Neiman Marcus Settles With FTC Over Faux Fur Labeling Flap

The Neiman Marcus Group Inc. and two other retailers have agreed to settle Federal Trade Commission charges that they deceived consumers by claiming certain products contained fake fur when in fact the fur was real.

D.C. Circuit Grapples With 'Sensitive' Dispute Over Jerusalem

Calling the dispute "sensitive" and saying the resolution will have global consequences, the U.S. Justice Department today urged a federal appeals court in Washington not to allow an American born in Jerusalem to identify Israel as the place of birth on his U.S. passport.

D.C. Courts Sequestration Plan Includes Maintenance, Construction Cuts

Facing around $15 million in budget cuts, District of Columbia Court of Appeals Chief Judge Eric Washington offered more details yesterday on the D.C. courts' plan to cope with mandatory federal budget cuts known as sequestration. The plan includes cutting back on contracts for rodent control and other maintenance services, slowing progress on construction projects, and training employees to do other work in light of a hiring freeze.
