The nation's providers of civil legal assistance for the poor could face more staffing reductions and provide services to fewer people if Congress is unable to resolve its latest budget crisis by March 1.

Dow Chemical hit with $400M verdict for price-fixing

A federal jury in Kansas City, Kan., has slapped the Dow Chemical Co. with a $400 million verdict in a urethane price-fixing class action; it could be trebled to $1.2 billion under the Sherman Act.

Implications thorny for would-be Colorado pot laws

A 24-member task force recommended on February 19 that nonresidents of Colorado should be permitted to buy and consume marijuana while visiting the state. At the same time, the task force recommended that shops selling marijuana could not be owned by nonresidents. And that's where it gets complicated.
