Lawsuit sinks over claims to sunken treasure off Colombia

The legal effort to recover sunken treasure off the coast of Colombia hit another snag on Monday, when the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit upheld a trial judge's ruling dismissing the company's suit.

Toyota settles acceleration claims with California district attorney

Toyota has settled one of the last remaining cases brought on behalf of consumers over sudden acceleration defects. Under the settlement, Toyota will pay $16 million — half to the Orange County, Calif., District Attorney's office and half to a local gang prevention program.

A Michigan trial court erred when it allowed the Thomas M. Cooley Law School to unmask an anonymous Internet critic, an intermediate state appeals court has ruled.
