AFTERNOON UPDATE Prosecutors Mounting New Case Against Blackwater Security Guards The government isn't retreating from a new criminal case against a group of former private security guards who were first charged in 2008 with manslaughter for their alleged roles in a shooting in Iraq that left more than a dozen civilians dead. Appeals Court Affirms $775K Judgment for Injured MLB Umpire The Wilson Sporting Goods Co. struck out in its appeal of a $775,000 judgment awarded to a Major League Baseball umpire who sued after being injured by a foul ball. The District of Columbia Court of Appeals affirmed the judgment in an opinion released this morning.
